Organic production also known as biological or ecological, is a system of production and processing of natural agricultural products. The objective is to obtain top quality food.

All products produced by Bodegas Don Montfer are controlled by the CCPAE (Catalan Council for Organic Farming). It is a public oversight body attached to the Directorate General for Agriculture of the Generalitat of Catalonia. It is equipped with an inspection and certification body that is responsible for ensuring compliance with European law 2092/91 regarding organic products.

The main characteristic of organically grown grapes is the lack of waste and optimal health status. In a culture that seeks to lower yields, not only premium quality is added, but also a more sustainable organic farming is to be found in strains that are resistant to pests. The regulations governing organic farming exclude all treatments with synthetic chemicals (herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers), in order that organic products do not contain residues of these substances.

Techniques used in organic production are respectful of the environment and to the people who consume the final product.
